BRIAN “FORMER LIFE” BUSINESS STORY
Brian Mistler (PhD) was Principle Consultant for Mistler & Associates, a Healthcare and Technology consulting firm, and Managing Partner for a small Venture Capital firm, after retiring from 20+ years in executive healthcare, university medical and mental health services, and technology leadership (a CxO “multi-tool” doing what the organization needs at any moment including President, COO, Chief Clinical Operations Officer, CFO, CHRO, & Senior Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). Dr. Mistler was/is also a small-business consultant for the NorCal Small Business Development Center (SBDC) working with Clinicians-turned-CEOs, Dentists and Dental Hygensits, and Mental Health Therapists and more, and volunteer Board Member and Treasurer for select organizations including Hospice of Humboldt, Sacred Groves (Natural Green Burials), and the San Francisco Leonard Cohen Festival. A national suicide prevention expert, he has served as Principal Investigator (PI) for major US Department of Health and Human Services and US Department of Justice grants, and a former trainer for FEMA, Red Cross, and hundreds of universities, hospitals, and companies and has developed a organizational and campus suicide prevention program used accross the USA and select locations in Latin America and Europe. A retired Clinical Psychologist and graduate of the Integrative Psychiatry Institute (MDMA & Ketamine Assisted Therapy) he also helps support the work of The Institute for Rural Psychedelic Care.

Supported a national healthcare SaaS technology company with a large capital raise; Principal Investigator for major US Department of Health and Human Services and DOJ grants. Executive Strategy Advisor for regional hospitals, Board Advisor and for select small non-profits and privately held companies in tech, entertainment, and health; helps select clients with CEO Groups and 1:1 Support.

A Clinical Psychologist by training and retired Senior Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management, Brian earned a BS/BA at Stetson University (Artificial Intelligence/Computer Engineering, Philosophy, & Humanities); M.A. (Conflict Resolution) from Univ. of Bradford in the UK (with an internship in the House of Commons); APA Internship VCU & Medical College of Virginia; Postgrad Certification (Financial Management) from Cornell; (Six Sigma & Lean Enterprise) Cert. Global Supply Chain Mgmt. McGill; and PhD (Counseling Psychology / Organizational Change) from the University of Florida.
